02 · Our Story

A family roastery, rooted in Ohio.

My journey in coffee began in a small college town, home of Muskingum University. While earning my bachelor's degree, I worked at a local coffee shop, Chapman's Coffeehouse, and quickly fell in love with the intricacies of creating the perfect cup.

After graduation, I joined a friend and classmate in Columbus, Ohio at a small business called Jennings Java, where I was immersed in the craft of brewing, roasting, and community.

That led to the creation of MJ's Coffee Roastery. What started as a college hobby blossomed into a thriving venture — small-batch coffee, roasted with care, brought back home to Winchester.
